 Well, I had no idea I'd actually finish it today, but I sat my butt down in front of the computer this morning, shortly after posting a journal, and found that I didn't feel like stopping, and so here it is >.> I started the sketch for this sometime early in December, and sketched on and off during classes for about a week, and started coloring it soon after, and now I'm done! It took three sheets of paper to draw this baby, tho' XD The reason for this picture is that I wanted to re-vamp Shan's Platinum from, because the first one I did is so... meh. Hopefully this one's better. Also: I wanted a sort of "parallel" to this image >> [link] You had a decent version of her Seraphim form, and now what I think is a decent version of her other form. I went through about five different backgrounds before swallowing my pride and asking for help. The people at MangaRevolution helped me with some suggestions which led me to drawing this baby. It might not be the best, but I think it's pretty cool! I was really nervous about shading the clouds tho o.e. And the stars... they were actually pretty fun! I thought that shading the markings on her scythe would be one of the more difficult parts, but that was actually pretty easy. What was harder was the darned swirls XD I actually drew them on a separate file then changed the color and moved them around to fit. Erasing the excess lines was a pain in the arse >.> Oh, and putting highlights on all of the metal surfaces, including Shan's hair and skin, that was quite fun and hard too XD. I was worried about Shan fitting with the background, since I hear that it's better to draw the background first, in order to get a better sense of lighting and shading, but I'm glad it looks good X3
