Just to show you the project I'm trying to sneak into my free time. It's actually Shan "before the eyepatch" as I call it. I'm looking forward to exploiting the lovely 9 by 12 inch tablets my school is so well-equipped with~
I'll see if I can also sneak some more dA time to reply to my messages.. there's 100 of them.... *sigh*
Oh, and the leaning WAS intentional (hence the movement of the clothes). And I WILL draw the rest of her hands behind those lil' fans of hers (in Photoshop). I'm kinda scared of ruining the sketch.
Done on 11 by 14 inch paper~
Anyway... I should probably go now.
LOL. Chocolate stin and folded corner.. and stray lines. GO ME.
Ooh, you're right. It DOES have a lot of anatomical errors. I'll suggest a few anatomy fixes. When the arm is raised, the shoulder lifts and becomes closer to the neck; squishes and bunches up with the neck. Plus, her front leg is a bit too twisted, ya know what I mean? The foot and ankle can rotate, but the shin/calf goes with it sorta. You made yours sorta dislocated... XD The arms are extremely straight. You should add some curves cuz no one's arms look like that, even anorexics have curves(the curve of their bones)!
You don't have to fix it, but if you're still bothered by the anatomy issues, please do so. XD
*pretends like she's not on hiatus* I see the shoulders better now, and I intend to fix that when I ink this in photoshop. The disadvantage of big paper is that it takes flattening (like scanning) to actually see things properly. The forward leg is facing us for the most part, and I actually rendered it more realistically than I initially intended (which is not really all that realistic anyway) so you can see the shifts in angles between the knee, the dip between the knee and the calf, and then the actual calf. And I was surprised this week in life drawing at how far back a foot could bend. That woman must have been flexible... but yeah, I don't think it's extreme at all (but I'm still going to see what others think of course, because I could just be biased.
Hm.. I need to fix her hand placement a bit, too. I noticed it in the initial sketch but the error is more pronounced than I thought. Ah well. I'll show you the inked version sometime before coloring to see if there are still errors anyway XD
