I know it's quite long, but I'd really appreciate it Why I did this picture: Well, yesterday was my cousin's birthday, so we went over to his house to eat some tamales. I knew we would be there a while, and that there would be almost nothing to do, so I took some paper, my inking pen (which I only recently bought, and had remained nearly untouched until yesterday XD) and my set of brand new prismacolors. And just for the heck of it, I took my "How to draw manga, Kimonos and Gowns". I saw a hairstyle I liked in there, so I thought I'd try it with Shan, since she's the character that wears more traditional clothes. Of course, her hair is much longer than the girl in the reference picture, so her curls are much longer and have more volume X3 She looks quite different with her bangs swept to the side like that XD The Title: Little Lady, because that's exactly what she is XD She's very manner-oriented, if you know what I mean; very polite little person X3 And very shy and childlike XD She's a little lady! *shot* *revives* My lack of colored pencil skills:I haven't colored a picture with colored pencils since.... er... do you remember those children's coloring books from when you were little? Yeah... I haven't really colored since then, unless you count the maps we have to color for the geography portion of my history classes o.e So obviously, I really need to practice. My Complaints: The picture looks semi-decent in real life, but my scanner completely kills it XP I actually had to darken the hair in photoshop. The skin and clothes I didn't really care about, since the colors were actually pretty random, and I didn't mind her face staying light. But her hair hair being light was NOT okay >.< Also: it looks kinda blurry for some reason o.e Tools: 0.5 Staedtler pigment liner Prismacolor colored pencils Shan and Artwork © Maria E. Explain so my brain will nod.
*insert angry question here* AGHHHHHH! How hard did you press on your skin?! Everytime I scan mine, they die. Did you use Peach or Light Peach for it?

I are say hello to you. (=
LAWLz dont ask >.>
Awsome....
Let's see: I used Light peach as the base color, pressing as hard as I could without breaking the tip (XD). Then I shaded in using peach, and after that I used Pale Vermilion (which just seems like a really fancy way of saying light orange to me) to make her skin stand out more. You can't see it very well, though.. It looks more like brownish.. I also put some Blush Pink on her cheek, right underneath her eye, but you can't really see that either ;_;
Gah.. the colors are so much more vibrant in real life. Maybe if I play around with photoshop I can bring the colors out a bit more? >.<

I've seen people scan pictures at a very high quality. I should ask them what kind of scanners they have so I can get me one. My current one is dying on me o.e
