Oh Man. I started drawing this months ago. Then I started the lineart for it, and it is now driving me up the wall. I want to finish soooo bad.
So far, I've spent at least 12 hours on her! (not continuously, but it's still ridiculous). I totally lost my swing for linearting and CGing, but I'm starting to find my style more and more.
I just enjoy very saturated colors XD The last color used to shade in her skin was pink.
And I do realize her hand sizes are a tad different, but I can fix that with the shading >w>
The colors look like they lack balance, but when I get the patterns in there, it will look more normal, so no worries there.
ah, she has no teeth yet. that looks funny. Probably should have waited until I had her teeth in to show this, but whatever >w>
Her eyes are really pretty up close. Stupid loss of detail!
And don't mind the background. It's just for me to judge the colors on a neutral background. This will eventually be a transparent PNG file.
Oh. That is Shan. With black hair and no eyepatch! OMG Whut happen'd? (this is actually her BEFORE purple hair and eye-patch, not after).
There's actually a great explanation for this, but it involves spoilers I do not want to give away. So YAY.
OH yeah. I'm deleting the sketch now that this is up. steal and die.
I think her skin is a bit... too pink. I'm not insulting your taste in skin tones or anything, but I honestly have never seen anyone with this sorta of pink skin before. I have seen orange people(from spray tanning or something?), but never pink(well, only if they were laughing like mad, or blushing, like mad, or working out.. like mad XD). You should balance out the pink with a more natural skin tone. You said Shan's skin was supposed to be creamy, right? Add some cream! XD
I got bored of normal skin tones ;_; I need to wait until I finish the rest of the piece though, patterns and all, before making adjustments. I've found that sometimes I make some things relatively dull when I set the standard with the skin. I will be toning down afterwards, though.. maybe. I might just go for ridiculously saturated colors. I've been wanting to try for a while >w>
